The minimum standard of entry to university in the UK is CC at A Level and 21-28 points at IB. These are grades given by a student’s teachers that predict their final results based on their academic performance in school.
AA*A* to AAA grades at A Level and 38-40 points in the International Baccalaureate (IB) are required for entry to the best universities in the UK.
In order to be considered at Oxford and Cambridge, students should be predicted at least AAA grades for the final A2 exams.
Students receive offers from universities that are conditional upon them achieving particular grades in their final exams. These offers may be received eight months prior to their exams.
